"I'm So Glad I Live in a World Where There are Octobers."
Anne of Green Gables, we couldn't agree more.
The Attic loves October.
She had a fabulous time at the pumpkin patch, although I think the horse was her favorite attraction.
However, as much as we love horses, we are most excited about the pumpkins. The smell, the taste... Pumpkin season is in full swing!
I celebrate every fall when Pumpkin Spice Lattes return to Starbucks- the frothiness, the cinnamon, the whip cream- I love it all.
Really, I love all things pumpkin. I know you might be tired of pumpkin themed posts, and/or pumpkin recipes, or just pumpkins in general... but I couldn't help sharing my excitement and adding to the buzz!
This fall, as a newly married woman with my own kitchen, I've been cooking and baking lots of fun new things. Some have been hits, and some have been misses...
But this morning's pumpkin pancakes were a hit!
So tasty and wonderful. My suggestion is that you add chocolate chips and pair the pancakes with coffee, because, well chocolate makes everything better, and coffee is a morning (or anytime) essential.
And The Attic is not the only blog that is celebrating the return of fall and all of its pumpkin glory. We've been seeing pumpkin posts everywhere!
We thought we'd link to a few of our favorites, including the post where we found the pumpkin pancakes recipe.
- Pumpkin Pancakes - Perfect for a weekend morning.
- Pumpkin Carving Ideas- Southern Living brings us 31 pumpkin carving ideas! This could make for a funny and messy date night or a great family fun night.
- Pumpkin Cheesecake- A Fisher Family Thanksgiving favorite.
- Pumpkin Spice Candles from Pottery Barn- Jon and I bought these for our kitchen table and we love them!
- Pumpkin Ginger Cookies with Cinnamon Chips- One of my favorite blogs, A Peony for Your Thoughts, posted these and they definitely look like they're worth trying. I mean, cookies + coffee is one of my favorite things.
- Healthy Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Oat Bars- After all of the pumpkin breads and pumpkin desserts, we might start making these tasty little bars instead. Only 128 calories per bar and they look delicious.
- Pretty Painted Pumpkins- If you're not into carving, try pumpkin painting. Could be a fun date night or a craft night with the kids. Pumpkins are a cheap way to decorate for your house and make it festive for the fall!
Yay for colored leaves, jacket weather, bonfires, flannel, roasted marshmallows, hot coffee, and all things pumpkin.
Happy Fall friends!
xo, The Attic
