Kansas City Road Trip

 Adventure

Jon and I like to go on adventures. We like seeing new places and trying new things together. This weekend we went to Kansas City, somewhere where neither of us had spent much time. We walked around, we shopped, we read, and we tried new coffee shops and new restaurants. We slept in, and we just enjoyed each other's company. We didn't bring our computers. We didn't work. We just had a lot of quality time in a fun, new place.

The drive to KC wasn't long, hard, or difficult. But there does seem to be a lot of... space. Endless big fields and big sky. At one point, when we were getting kind of restless, we decided to pull over and explore for a bit. Adventures, really, are made complete by the fun, unscheduled detours you make. 

Leather backpacks are currently one of my favorite things. They're easy to throw on. And this particular backpack was a gift from my grandmother. She used to travel to Egypt every year, and one year she brought all of the Fisher sisters backpacks. At the time, Janesport was more the thing... but now, I am so glad I held on to mine. The leather is soft and lovely. And it fits a lot of the important things... like a book. or two. or three. 

He's the handsomest. I know. 

The huge field and large expanse of sky made me aware of how small I am, and how big God is. It's a nice feeling. The creator of the whole universe cares about me. Wow.
