Day of Love

I Found the One Whom my Soul Loves

I am so excited to spend the rest of my life with him! I am so happy that he chose me, and that he keeps choosing me, and that I get to choose him. I love him.

And we get to celebrate that this weekend!

Before being married, Valentines Day was not my favorite. I preferred to think of it as a general love day- love your parents, love your friends, love you kids, and sure, maybe love your gf or bf, but probably just like them a lot. I didn't want to say "I love you" to someone until I thought I'd probably marry them, which meant that the "Day of Love" was way too much pressure for a dating relationship. It made me uncomfortable. But my dad would give me and my sisters flowers on Valentine's Day, and we liked that. Of course. Always say yes to flowers.

But now that I'm married and so totally in love... Valentine's Day makes me excited! I still hold to the fact, though, that Valentines is a general day of love. Love your parents, love your friends, love your kids, love your spouse. Be loving to the person behind you in the Starbucks line and buy their drink.

I don't hate on Valentines Day, just the pressure that is sometimes associated with it. So, my opinion is- hey, let's celebrate love. Even if the only being around for you to love is your dog. He probably needs some love too.

In celebration of love and adventure, Jon and I are going on a road trip this weekend! Woohoo! We love adventures together. Here is a pic from one of our previous road trips. We spent 14 hours in a car. You get to know someone really well that way...

Maybe next week I'll tell you more about this weekend's trip.

Happy Day of Love Brave Ones!

And remember. YOU. ARE. LOVED.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

Much love,
