Kansas City Barnes and Noble

What We Do When We're Visiting A New Place

We explore, we walk around, we eat tasty food, (bonus points if it's from a fun chocolate store!) and of course, we visit Barnes and Noble. (We also like to visit local bookstores too. There is one in downtown St. Louis, called Left Bank Books that we adore.

This trip, we spent most of our time in Kansas City at the Plaza. And what was at the Plaza? A FOUR STORY BARNES AND NOBLE. I was in a state of bliss. They even had comfy chairs.

Why am I grinning so widely? Because I am in my happy place. A comfy chair, in a bookstore, with a good book in hand. I ended up buying that book- Winters Tale. Have you read it? Was it any good? It's been made into a movie, which was released last weekend on Valentine's day. But I want to read te book before I read the movie... and the book is really long so it might be a while before I see the movie.

My handsome hubs catching up on the Wall Street Journal. It's one of our favorite papers to read.

Is there anything you always do when you're on vacation? Do you prefer to go somewhere new, or somewhere familiar? Are you a beach, mountains, or scenery kind of person?

I really like them all. I think I mostly just really like to travel- especially when it's with people I love.

I hope your day is going great! We're half way through the week. Woohoo!

Much love,

  1. I love exploring new places! And finding a great bookstore is always a plus! I put "Winter's Tale" on my reading list a few weeks ago. I can't wait to hear what you think!

    1. I'll let you know! I read a little bit of the beginning and the writing is beautiful... the kind that seems to swirl around you. My prediction is that it won't be concise at all, but seriously lovely and totally worth it.
